It depends on which region you’re talking about. Central Thai feels about human average. Northern Thai is famously slow and sweet-sounding. Southern Thai is so fast and clipped that there’s a Thai joke that two Southern Thai people can have a conversation from windows of trains passing each other in opposite directions at full speed.

You can see how much the notion of fast-talking Southerners is played up.
